Parbati Devi Memorial Foundation

Years ago a vision was born in the heart of Behala. This was a vision of love, born in the faith of a simple and modest human being, the Late Narayan Shaw who believed that all children are of worth and that they deserve to have an access to education. To give a shape to the dream of their father Late Narayan Shaw and in the fond and loving memory of their mother Late Parbati Devi, their children formed the Parbati Devi Memorial Foundation and established Shaw Public School in the year 2006.

It is an all-girls institution and is affiliated to The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. Children are prepared to sit for ICSE and ISC Examinations. From a modest beginning the school has now grown into an outstanding centre of education for girls in south Kolkata. We, at Shaw Public School, commit ourselves to the task of developing confident young ladies who are inquisitive by nature, diligent in their work, sensitive to their environment and above all, can recognise their own potential and independently create their own future.
